Grégory & François Chabanian are delighted to present a new group show in Lausanne, presenting works by MAURO CORDA EXHIBITION DATES AT BEL-AIR FINE ART LAUSANNE MAURO CORDA CONTORTIONNISTS & POLE DANCERS Mauro Corda, "Contortionniste XXVII" - white bronze sculpture Mauro Corda was born in Lourdes in 1960. His figurative sculptures maintain a reverence for classical and modernist traditions, while also expressing the artist’s voice. Although he was born in France, the artist hails from a family of Italian stonecutters and received his education at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Working in metals such as bronze, aluminum, and stainless steel, Corda adheres to a mostly classical notion of the figure, yet he deviates from historical tradition by placing his figures in unusual poses or by adding unexpected elements. At the intersection of symbolism, naturalism, surrealism, his work puts a finger to the major issues of our time, whether identity, environment, genetics, major epidemic plagues progress of science. Patrick Rougereau, "Punky Fish" - photography Patrick Rougereau has become one of the most talented specialists in culinary photography. Through his astonishing, explosive and gourmet images, Patrick Rougereau shows the beautiful but also the tasteful. Through the framing, the light and texture effects, the shadows and transparencies, he sublimates the products, tells stories, puzzles the senses. Awarded numerous prizes in France and abroad, he was recognized as "Artist of the Year" at the Chefs World Summit in Monaco in 2018 and was awarded the Gold Medal of the French Culinary Academy in 2019. She started her ‘Dream Art Project’ in 2016. The artist creates her Neons installations with a precise selection of countries and landscapes. Each shoot is a real set up and a huge logistics organisation. Inspired by works and creations of Claude Lévêque and Tracey Emin, Neons words give to the artist the opportunity to combine two essential aspects : light and lettering. The result gives a dreamy, poetic and surreal effect. Anne Valverde, "Amour is French" - photography |
