NILOUFAR BANISADR

Iranian photographer Niloufar Banisadr has been working on self-portraits for 20 years. She is a politically engaged artist whose art has sensual and universal dimensions. It all began when her student works got harshly censored, putting her family in danger.  She promised herself from that point onwards to never put anyone into a vulnerable position again because of her art. Starring right into our eyes, the artist goes beyond the invitation on a journey, bravely combining culture, religion and creation to approach the status of women.

To Peruvian artist Mariela Garibay, sculpture is a path to full consciousness, through the slow and reliable process of creation. Her works bring a positive energy, a confidence in our inner force and a pure state of happiness. “Sculpture is a discipline which requires patience, work and love; lots of love for the idea, the message and the unknown person who one day will discover it. Lots of reflection and work that make me aware of the true value of things.”
